Facial Fillers (Dermal Fillers)

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are injections used to plump up wrinkles and smooth out lines, typically around the eyes, mouth and nose. They offer fast, long lasting results and can be used to add volume to sagging skin, make your features more symmetrical, plump up lips and cheeks and smooth out wrinkles and creases in your face.

As the name suggests, Dermal Fillers are injected underneath the skin and are often used as a solution for the loss for your skins natural collagen, which decreases in amount, over time.

Types of Dermal Fillers

There are several types of Dermal Fillers, and should only be administered by aesthetics professionals, so contact us to discuss which ones will be best suited to you.

These include:

Hyaluronic acid (HA)

is a naturally occurring acid in your skin. It gives your skin volume and keeps it hydrated. With age, your body stops making hyaluronic acid. Results from HA injections usually last six months to a year.

Calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA)

is a type of filler that consists of a substance you have in your bones. Results from these fillers typically last around a year. CaHA fillers are usually used for deeper wrinkles.

Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA)

is a substance that helps your body create its own collagen. Poly-L-lactic acid is usually used to smooth deep wrinkles on your face. The results can last two years or more.

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA)

fillers consist of collagen and very small balls that stay under your skin after being injected. The balls give your skin volume and keep it firm.

The Process

1.

Using a thin needle, we will inject small amounts of fillers under the skin, possibly in multiple areas, depending on your requirements. This takes between a few minutes and up to an hour.

2.

We will then cleanse your skin and if you have any pain or swelling, we will give you an ice-pack to help soothe any immediate discomfort.

3.

Most people will see the results straight away, but result times vary depending on the person and factors such as the type of filler you have received.
