Russian Lashes

Russian lashes are ultra fine synthetic lashes that are much thinner than a classic lash, meaning that we can apply more than one to each of your natural eye lashes. This gives you a much fuller and extravagant look, so if you are looking to add volume to sparse lashes, then Russian lashes are the perfect option.

Typically 2-5 extensions are added, in a fan shape to your own lashes, depending on your preference. Varying thicknesses of lashes are used, in combination with the number of fibres per strand, to create your desired look. These are categorised as Classic, Volume and Mega Volume lash looks.

Russian Lashes should last about 4-6 weeks, although we recommend an infill every 2-3 weeks to maintain the luscious appearance you are looking for.

Gel Nail Manicure

If you are looking for a set of nails that will see you through a busy working week, or last your whole holiday, then a gel manicure is perfect for you as they are more resistant to chips, scratches and general wear and tear. They also last longer that traditional nails, and typically do not need to be redone for between 10 days to 3 weeks.

When it comes to designs, the world is your oyster. You may have a specific design in mind, or if you would rather seek advice from our trained specialists, we will be happy to make suggestions as to a suitable design or colour for you.

THE PROCESS

• Your nails are prepared in a similar way to a traditional manicure - cut, filed, shaped and cuticles are cut (although this is optional).

• The gel is painted on and then cured with a UV or LED light to lock it in place for a long-lasting finish. Multiple layers will be added, with each layer being cured for 30-60 seconds at a time. This means there is no waiting for your nails to dry - you’ll be ready to leave us with your gorgeous new nails as soon as your topcoat cures.

Hair Removal

At Lydia Cresswell Skin and Aesthetics, we use two techniques for hair removal - Threading, and Hot Wax.

THREADING

Removal of facial hair by threading has been used for centuries in Asia, and is great for sensitive skin and those allergic to wax. We use 100% cotton thread, rolled over the skin to remove both the finest and thickest hairs from the root. Designed to be used primarily on the face, upper lip and chin, regular threading can eventually make fine hair disappear, and although hair growth varies from person to person, we recommend treatment every 2-5 weeks.

HOT WAX

As the name suggests, hot waxing applies a layer of wax to the skin which solidifies and when removed, takes the hair from the follicle and not the skin surrounding the area. This makes the waxing treatment more comfortable and leaves your skin less prone to ingrowing hairs. This makes it a gentler solution for hair removal. Waxing can last up to 6 weeks before usual hair growth returns, and you will usually begin to see new hair growth around 3-4 weeks after treatment.

Waxing does require an area test prior to treatment to make sure it is suitable to your skin, but this can easily be arranged, if you are a first-time client.
