Dermal fibroblasts are cells within the dermis layer of skin which are responsible for generating connective tissue and allowing the skin to recover from injury.
Small dry spots or scabs will form in the treatment area, then disappear within about a week. Treatments done around the eye area may take up to 8-10 days as it’s more sensitive. Once the skin has healed, you’ll be left with the youthful, radiant look you need.
Unlike CO2 lasers, the pen never actually touches your skin so there is little chance of infection. Healing after plasma fibroblasting is generally quicker than CO2 lasers. Patients using CO2 lasers may need to wait up to 2 weeks to apply makeup and as long as 3 months for areas of redness to fully disappear.
In the following days after treatment, it is normal for the arca that has been treated to feel tight and dry. Occasional weeping will settle. Tiny crusts (scabs) will quickly form on the treated area.
It will also take several days for the tiny scabs to disappear from the pinpoint wounds on the skin’s surface. During this time you will begin to see the results of your treatment, and your skin will continue to improve over the next 6 months. After that, results generally last 3-5 years.
