Semi-Permanent Make-up

Cosmetic Tattooing

Semi-permanent make-up is the process of having pharmaceutical grade pigments ‘tattooed’ into the upper dermis your skin to define lips, eyes and brows

It is ideal for enhancing your features when not wearing traditional make-up, or if you choose a more dramatic 'made-up' look, can simply save you time in front of the mirror.

Eyebrows

If you have little or no eyebrows, then this is the perfect treatment for you. Simply choose your colour and decide which style you would like, from a natural hair stroke effect or a soft powdered effect.

- Have high blood pressure or a heart condition

TREATMENT SUMMARY

PROCEDURE TIME

After your initial consultation, the colour, shape and style of your brows are agreed upon, after which the pigment is placed into your skin. A topical numbing cream is applied to make the treatment painless. The procedure takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes in total.

Duration of Results

Vary from person to person, and will fade over time. Generally results last 3 years, but we recommend a colour boost between 12-24 months to keep your brows looking fresh.

DOWNTIME

The treated area will be a little tender straight after the procedure but this will wear off quickly.

MAINTENANCE

After your initial procedure, the colour will begin to fade gradually over time. The longevity of your results will vary depending on certain factors, such as medications, sun exposure and how quickly your skin exfoliates.

Customer Care

FAQs

The colour will be approximately 50% darker and a lot stronger for up to a week after treatment. The area will become dry and flakey 3–7 days after the treatment.
You can usually go about your daily routine immediately, but some clients experience some swelling and redness which normally subsides within 48 hours. After 1 week your colour will appear to have disappeared, but the pigment will start to develop between 2 to 6 weeks. After your first application you may find your colour has not healed evenly.
This is dependent on your skin and personal healing process. This is normally balanced in your second ‘top up’ procedure; 1-3 months if required.

The treatment feels reasonably warm but pleasant and is rarely uncomfortable.

We have found that permanent makeup results can be unsuccessful on some skin types. These include clients with very oily skin and large open pores in the treatment area. We have also found Alopecia and Chemotherapy patients tend to have uneven healing and poor colour retention.
Additional top up treatments may be required at a small cost, however it is strongly inadvisable to tattoo an area more than 3 times within the period of a year.
We never guarantee results but we will always use our best judgement to obtain the best result possible. You will be professionally advised during your consultation if we feel you are not suitable for this treatment.
Pregnant or nursing mothers are not able to have permanent cosmetics.

Both are a form of tattooing and achieve similar results. Microblading involves implanting pigment into the skin using a hand held tool whereas the machine method uses digital vibrations to implant the colour. Your Technician will advise on which method will suit your skin type and requirements best. Sometimes we find it necessary to combine the two techniques.sw

THINGS TO CONSIDER

  • You must wait a minimum of 4 weeks before having any further work done on the area.
  • Touch up procedures may be required after the initial procedure. These cannot be done until 4-6 weeks have passed.
  • The procedure may be painful. A topical cream can be used to de sensitize the area.
  • Immediately after a procedure the colour will appear 30-50% darker than the end result.
The colour will fade gradually over time – normally 6 – 36 months. Although colour may fade to the naked eye some pigment may remain permanently under the skin.
  • We advise a patch test, this can be waived in which case the client accepts full responsibility for any adverse reaction.
  • You are aware of a delayed or immediate allergic reaction to any part of the procedure/products.
  • A negative patch test does not mean that there will not be a delayed reaction after a procedure.
  • Infections can occur despite procedures being carried out in a hygeinic environment. Aftercare balms are provided to cover the area and promote a clean healing environment.
  • There may be swelling and redness post procedure. Each client is different but it normally subsides in a few hours.
  • There may be pigment migration (blurring) though this is not common.
